Management Science

Management Science (also called Decision Science, Operations Research, and Systems Analysis) is offered as a minor field of study only and focuses upon the methodological and modeling technologies that form the foundations for analyzing systems. All students in the Quantitative Methods Core obtain substantial training in methodological skills and advanced modeling issues.

Faculty and Research Interests

  • Gregory Dobson: His current work concentrates on the application of process im­provement principles to health care and other industries.
  • Harry Groenevelt: His research interests include health care operations, logistics and supply chain management (including reverse logistics), service system management and design, and quality management.
  • Edieal J. Pinker: His research interests include issues of business process design, electronic commerce, and homeland security.
  • Abraham Seidmann: His current research and consulting activities include medical informatics, electronic commerce, online auctions, information systems, health care management, business process design, project management and optimal resource allocation, strategic manufacturing systems, information economics, stochastic processes, and performance modeling for capacity planning and pricing.
