Rochester has more than 200 million square feet of indoor mall space, as well as several neighborhoods that boast a plethora of independent shops selling designer and ethnic clothing, jewelry, art, and much more. Two of the most popular areas are Park Avenue and Monroe Avenue, which also are noted for many cafes and restaurants with plenty of great food.
Eastview Mall
Located about 25 minutes southeast of campus in Victor, Eastview contains many popular stores, including Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Coach, Guess, J. Crew, Nine West, Pottery Barn, and Williams-Sonoma. After shopping, stop by Biaggi’s, Champs, or P.F. Chang’s for some great food. Nearby stores include Borders Books & Music, Circuit City, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Home Depot, Kmart, Linens ’n’ Things, Michael’s, Old Navy, Pier 1 Imports, Staples, and Target.

The Marketplace Mall
Located only 10 minutes south of campus in Henrietta, Marketplace Mall includes stores such as Kaufmann’s, Bon Ton, JC Penny, Sears, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Pac Sun, Express for Men, and Victoria’s Secret. Nearby restaurants include Don Pablo’s, IHOP, Macaroni Grille, Olive Garden, Panera Bread, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, and Uno Chicago Grille. Nearby stores include Babies ’R Us, Borders Books & Music, Burlington Coat Factory, Chase-Pitkin, Circuit City, Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Michael’s, Old Navy, Petco, Pier 1 Imports, Sam’s Club, Target, Wal-Mart, and Wegman’s.

The Mall at Greece Ridge Center
About 20 minutes northwest of campus in Greece, you’ll find stores such as Barnes & Noble, Bed, Bath, & Beyond; Burlington Coat Factory; Dick’s Sporting Goods; Gap; Marshall’s; Old Navy; and Yankee Candle. Nearby stores include Kohl’s, Pier 1 Imports, and Target.

Park Avenue
Well-known for its prime location in the museum district, Park Avenue boasts restaurants, cafes, galleries, and boutiques among some of Rochester’s oldest mansions. Parking is easy to find and free. Most would agree that it’s a sublime experience to stroll along Park Avenue, coffee in hand, especially during the spring when the magnolia trees are in full bloom.

Pittsford Plaza
Many people visit Pittsford Plaza to shop or dine in the region’s largest and most extravagant Wegman’s, or to decompress with a book and coffee in a two-story Barnes & Noble. Plenty of unique shopping and relaxing opportunities exist here as well as tried-and-true Bed, Bath & Beyond; Marshall’s; Petco; and TJ Maxx.

Village of Pittsford
This region is a beautifully preserved historic village, dating back to 1789 when the first structure was built. You’ll find charming storefronts, seasonally adorned lampposts, and pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly walkways throughout the village and along the Erie Canal. The ambiance of the village culminates in the annual Pittsford Festival which takes place during the last weeks of summer.
The Village of Pittsford holds wonderful discoveries for the avid shopper. Talbots and Starbucks are surefire delights, as well as a partial list of additional stores, restaurants, and other places of interest listed below. We encourage you to take the 20-minute drive southeast from campus - you will not regret it!
