Consortium for Graduate Study in Management

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is the country’s preeminent organization for promoting diversity and inclusion in American business.

The Consortium was founded in 1966 to assist African American males in developing the business skills necessary to compete for entry-level positions in American business. In 1968 University of Rochester became the fourth business school to join the Consortium and we have remained a committed School partner to this organization for more than 50 years. Over time, the Consortium has redefined its mission as follows:

The mission of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, an alliance of leading American business schools and some of our country’s top corporations, is to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by helping to reduce the serious underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in both our member schools’ enrollments and the ranks of management. We believe this mission can be achieved by recruiting for graduate business education qualified U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents who can demonstrate a commitment to the Consortium’s mission and can best assist the Consortium in pursuing this mission.
