UR Undergraduate Students

Thinking of getting a graduate business degree? It’s never too early to start planning your future.

Business school is closer than you think—in fact, one of the best business schools in the country is just across campus. We embrace the spirit of Meliora in everything we do. Let us be part of your journey to become ever better.

Simon Business School offers four specialized master’s programs—Accountancy, Business Analytics, Finance, and Marketing Analytics—and all are STEM-designated, which verifies quantitative and analytical rigor of the study plans. As a University of Rochester undergraduate student, you’ll be given an application fee waiver (a $90 value) and if you’re admitted, a guaranteed $10,000 in scholarship support. And new this year, we're offering current University of Rochester undergraduate students the option to waive the GMAT or GRE requirement.

Start your application today!

For GMAT or GRE waiver consideration, students must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher when applying
  • Have a “B” or higher in all courses related to their major*
  • Conduct a screening interview with an admissions officer by January 5**

For more information or to schedule your screening interview, email us at admissions@simon.rochester.edu.

*Due to the highly-quantitative nature of Simon’s MS programs, preference will be given to candidates maintaining a "B" or above in business and math courses.
**Evaluations for a GMAT/GRE waiver after January 5 are completed on a case by case basis.

4+1 Accountancy Program

If you’re a current University of Rochester undergraduate business student pursuing the Accounting Track, consider our 4+1 Accountancy Program! In addition to the other benefits offered to U of R undergrads who apply to Simon (see above), advantages of the 4+1 include:

  • Beginning graduate courses early. If you’re admitted as a junior, you’ll have access to graduate level courses in your senior year that count toward your undergraduate degree.
  • Completing an internship. Some students choose to complete an internship between senior year and the beginning of the MS in Accountancy program to aid them in their future job search.
  • Flexible electives. Opting in to the 4+1 Program early in your undergraduate study may give you more options in substituting electives during the MS program.

Applications are accepted beginning in January of your junior year. Contact the Simon Admissions Office with any questions you have about timing or the admissions process.
