Our Mission

The mission of the Office of the Registrar is to house, maintain and protect the confidentiality of student academic records; to support the academic mission of the university by providing efficient and effective services to students, faculty, and staff; to monitor the implementation and adherence of academic policy and to comply with all federal and state regulations. 

The Registrar's Office adheres to the guidelines on professional practices and ethical standards developed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). 

Services

The Registrar's Office maintains the official academic record for all current and former students, publishes the undergraduate and graduate schedule of courses, assigns classrooms, produces the final exam schedule, conducts registration, records grades, ensures graduates have fulfilled requirements, verifies enrollment and degrees, provides unofficial transcripts, supplies data in support of the academic decision-making process, issues diplomas, and plans commencement.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) 

The University of Rochester complies fully with the provisions of the FERPA which governs access and release of information from student educational records. FERPA applies to all educational institutions receiving funds from the United States Department of Education.
