The following post was written by Sharise Kent, assistant director of MBA recruitment. Sharise works with prospective students who are considering the Full-Time MBA program at Simon Business School. As a Rochester native, she loves welcoming prospective students to Simon and Rochester to experience everything the school and the city have to offer.

As we settle into a new year, we at Simon Business School are gearing up for our next on campus events! Whether you have already been accepted, just submitted your application, or are still in the process of applying, attending Experience Simon Weekend is an opportunity to solidify why this could be the best place for you to earn your full-time MBA.

Experience Simon Weekend is an opportunity to visit campus, connect with current students, meet alumni, and so much more! In the coming months, there are two options to choose from to plan your visit. The first Experience Simon Weekend is on February 23 and the second option is on March 8-9.

Why should you register today to attend? Here are a few things to consider:

Experience Simon firsthand.

Checking our website and attending virtual events can be very informative, but nothing beats coming to campus to experience Simon in person! Our close-knit Simon community comprises enthusiastic, intelligent, and innovative people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Our top-ranked STEM MBA offers a small class size—we enroll between 100 and 110 full-time MBA students each year—a very personalized approach by design. While here, you will participate in a sample strategy class with one of our award winning faculty, take a tour of Simon, and hear from our club leaders as you begin to get a feel for life at Simon. On Friday night we host a dinner, which allows you to see a little bit of Rochester while you’re connecting with members of the Simon community and fellow prospective students.

Take the opportunity to interview.

If you have submitted your application recently for Round 2, we encourage you to attend the February 2–3 event so that you can complete your admission interview in person. The March 8–9 event will offer more interview opportunities for candidates applying in Round 3 or later. As long as you intend to apply to Simon for 2024 entry, you can complete your interview while visiting. This is your chance to check a major part of the application process off of your to-do list.

Meet Simon MBA alumni and current students.

Hear directly from our accomplished alumni and current students about their Simon experience. Our alumni network includes professionals across a wide range of sectors and experience levels. Listen and learn about their paths from Simon to success. Engage with our current students to understand how they maximize their student experience.

Connect with fellow prospective MBA students.

An additional benefit to attending Experience Simon Weekend is that you are amongst of group of other prospective students. The opportunity to authentically engage, share, reflect, and connect with others on the same journey allows you to begin to experience the unique culture that is Simon.

Discover Rochester.

The greater Rochester area is home to over 1 million residents. Rochester is consistently ranked as one of the most affordable places to live in the US. In fact, it is among the Top 15 Best U.S. Cities to Live for Quality of Life (U.S. News & World Report) and was also ranked the No. 2 Friendliest City in the US in a Readers' Choice Awards survey from Condé Nast Traveler. From the booming farm-to-table foodie options, craft cocktail and beer scene, world-class events, and the 130 wineries in the Finger Lakes region, to the rich cultural history of the City of Rochester, there is something for everyone.

Past event attendees agree that our generous travel stipend that makes the visit to Rochester even more enticing. Travel stipends are available to help offset the cost of your trip to Rochester if you’re traveling more than 200 miles one way and have a US mailing address. Additionally, we will cover the cost of the two-night hotel stay and feed you plenty of great food.

Take the time to register today to attend a February or March Experience Simon Weekend. If you have already applied, we encourage you to register for our February event to secure your interview slot. If you have questions about which event to attend, reach out to our office at admissions@simon.rochester.edu. We hope to see you soon!

Update as of January 17, 2024: we are no longer accepting registrations for February ESW, as we have reached capacity for the event. If you'd like to visit Simon this spring, we encourage you to register for the March ESW as soon as possible!
