Did you miss the Round 1 deadline? Not to worry, Round 2 is here! You have another opportunity to apply for priority consideration for admission and merit-based scholarships.

Life can be hectic enough with all the preexisting responsibilities, and we know applying to grad school requires dedication and time. As the year comes to a close, sometimes the pace slows a bit, offering many a chance to pause. This pause could be a great time to regroup and dedicate more time toward completing your application.

Still considering? Here are the top three advantages to applying in Round 2:

1.) Priority consideration for merit-based scholarships.

When it comes to applying to Simon, earlier is ever better.* While scholarships are offered each round, early applicants receive priority consideration. Simon takes a holistic approach when reviewing applications for scholarships, keeping in mind leadership, volunteer experience, academic performance, extracurricular activities, test scores (if submitted), and more. Additionally, no separate application is required—applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarship support if they opt in in their application for admission.

2.) Show us your best self.

Now that we are approaching the new year, you may have news to share! Feel free to add any new promotions, certifications, courses, or anything else you believe would bring additional value to your application. Another way to improve your profile is taking the GMAT or GRE. Although neither test is required to apply for Simon’s MBA or MS programs, submitted scores are an additional data point used in consideration for merit-based scholarships.

3.) More time to prepare for business school.

Applying by January 5 also means that you will receive your admission decision by March 31, which will give you plenty of time to prepare for enrollment. You’ll be able to get a jump on the I-20 process (if applicable) and use the spring to prepare for the exciting academic journey ahead.

No matter where you are in the application process, we are so excited for you to continue on your journey toward applying to business school. Check out our resources for additional guidance:

From all of us at Simon, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy new year. We look forward to reviewing your application in 2026!
