Dan teaches courses in AI and analytics in the MBA, Masters, and Undergraduate programs at the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester. Since 2023, he has led the Simon Business School’s AI Initiative, working to integrate Generative AI across the curriculum and operations of the school.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences and at other Business Schools, runs training sessions for executives at corporations, and consults on AI initiatives. Recent speaking engagements and hands-on workshops have included Howard University Business School (Washington DC), Battery Ventures (Boston, MA), Strong Memorial Hospital (Rochester, NY), Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield (Rochester, NY), and others. His is a human-centered approach to AI, emphasizing critical thinking and philosophy as much as the underlying technology.
Teaching is a mid-life career change for Dan: he had a 25+ year career in regional and global Technology organizations such as Oracle, Qlik, and smaller marketing and analytics firms. His clients included Apple, SAP, Dell, Abbott Labs, Merck, JP Morgan Chase, and others.
His teaching is highly rated by students, receiving multiple teaching awards. He has deep experience serving on community and commercial boards.
