After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2009, Dan Gluszko served in the US Army for five years. Military service left an indelible mark on Dan; it has informed many aspects of his life, including his decision to attend Simon Business School.

“Coming from the military, having a team of people who cared about each other and shared a common goal mattered a lot to me,” Dan said. “I chose Simon because of the environment. The School had a small community, where students and professors collaborate as a team. Simon professors want you to succeed and will spend the time to ensure that you fully understand the coursework and can apply the concepts in real-world situations.”

Dan is a proud member of the MBA Veterans Network and encourages other veterans to explore the opportunities available to them at Simon. “The School knows that veterans have a unique perspective. Our views are respected and encouraged,” he said.

Along with the MBA Veterans Network, the University of Rochester Veterans Alliance also advocate for veteran students’ interests. “There are many resources, including the Veterans Service Office, which can answer your questions and help navigate the GI Bill to access your educational benefits,” Dan said. “The School community is incredibly supportive and welcoming and I met people throughout the School who care about veterans, even if they are not veterans themselves.”
