Apply to One of Simon’s Part-Time Programs by June 15!

Are you ready to build practical skills in the classroom and take them with you into the workplace? Simon’s academic programs frame contemporary business problems in ways to get you thinking critically as a strategic leader. As both a full-time Simon employee and part-time student in the Professional MBA program, I’ve applied knowledge built in the classroom to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes I use each day at work.

Whether you consider the Professional MBA, Executive MBA, MS in Medical Management, or Online MS in Business Analytics & Applied AI, our part-time programs offer the flexibility to learn cutting edge business tools and techniques across many different functional areas while working full-time. The next deadline is on June 15 and merit-based scholarship awards are still available, making it an ideal time to take the next step on your academic and professional journey here at Simon. Additionally, if you apply a little early—by June 1—your $90 application fee is waived!

Where do I get started? 

So, you’ve made the decision to further your education in business—congratulations! We are thrilled you are considering joining the Simon Business School community. The first steps and initial planning for the road ahead are key! This is truly a marathon, not a sprint. 

For many in our part-time programs (myself included), students have been out of school for quite some time. Readjusting to student life and balancing the demands of your academics, family life, and work life is part of a larger process. Being intentional and taking time up front to have that important conversation with your family and employer that you are interested in pursuing your education is critical for setting the groundwork for this transformative journey.

I want to move forward with my application, what can I expect?

You will want to ensure your application is as complete as possible. It tells the story about your background, motivation, and goals for the program to the Admission Committee. It’s important to do this in the most compelling way possible. Your application should include all your supporting documentation: résumé, undergraduate transcripts (and prior graduate transcripts if applicable), test scores (if applicable), and any certificates. Everything can be uploaded directly for the Admissions Committee’s review in the online application. Your résumé and essays will be especially crucial in telling your story. Ensure they are error-free and consider having a friend or family member proofread your documents. Double checking that everything is completed and uploaded before hitting “submit” also significantly reduces the chances of a delay in your application moving to the next steps of the review process.

Candidates moved forward to the next step will be invited to interview with a staff member at Simon. The admission interview is not intended to be overly technical or intense, but rather just a conversation to better understand who you are beyond the application and what you want to bring to the program. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the Admissions Committee is working diligently to post decisions for candidates in a timely manner.

Advice on Next Steps

If you choose to enroll and become part of our community, know that you will always have a robust support system here at Simon. Pursuing a graduate degree pushes you outside of your comfort zone at times, and this is where real growth happens. You will always have access to an academic advisor who you can make appointments with to address concerns. Additionally, other resources such as tutoring services, career support, and office hours with your professors are all readily available. There is also great collegiality and collaboration among the student body, as everyone is juggling their course load with professional and personal commitments. Teammates look for ways to support one another during especially busy periods, which is a hallmark of the close-knit Simon community.

All four of Simon’s part-time programs begin in August, so there is still plenty of time to apply and begin your degree this year. Don’t forget—while our next application deadline is June 15, you can apply for free by June 1!
