Let's be real: choosing a business school is a huge decision. It’s not just about rankings or job placements … although those are important! It’s about finding a place where you click, where you feel challenged and supported, and where you can truly see yourself thriving. For me, that place was Simon, is Simon, and thankfully will forever be Simon Business School.

Now, I know what some of you might be thinking: “Isn't that just because you grew up in Rochester?” And yes, that is certainly a piece of my puzzle! I was born and raised in Rochester, New York, and I am blessed to be raising three beautiful children here. I have seen this city evolve, and I am genuinely excited about its resurgence. The chance to get my MBA right here and contribute to this community's growth is a unique opportunity I could not pass up.

But it is so much more than hometown pride. My drive has always been fueled by continuous learning and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. I am constantly seeking new challenges, and Simon provides the perfect environment. The rigorous curriculum, the emphasis on analytics, the focus on real-world problem-solving—it all adds up to an incredible opportunity for growth. This coupled with being able to take the journey with amazing students, staff, and alumni makes it the full package!

Beyond academics, Simon's commitment to diversity is something that truly resonated with me. And I am not just talking about the usual checkboxes. It is a diversity of thought, background, experience, and aspiration. You might be a career pivoter, someone with three years of work experience, or someone with 13 years of experience (like me!). You might be juggling the demands of raising three kids (like me!). You might be navigating this journey solo, married, or something in between. Simon makes space for everyone, and everyone can succeed here. The school fosters an inclusive environment where individuals from all walks of life can connect, learn from one another, and achieve their goals.

I also wanted a place where I felt a sense of belonging and community. From what I felt during every Simon visit and interaction, Simon provided a family-like atmosphere. I wanted to build strong connections with my classmates and professors while searching for careers we never thought were possible. I wanted to collaborate, to debate, and to learn from people with different perspectives.

And that is where the “hometown advantage” really comes in. I know Rochester. I know the neighborhoods, the hidden gems, the best places to grab a bite after a long study session. I am genuinely excited to be a resource for my classmates, especially those who are new to the area. I want to help them discover everything this city has to offer, from the arts scene to the amazing food.

Simon is not just a place to get an MBA; it is a place to become a better version of yourself. It is a place where you are challenged to think critically, to push your boundaries, and to make a real impact. And for me, it is a chance to do all of that while contributing to the city I love.

If you are looking for a business school that will challenge you, support you, and help you achieve your dreams, I encourage you to consider Simon. Visit, talk to the students, and experience the energy for yourself. You might just find your home here, too.
