Simon Business School at the University of Rochester has announced the launch of a new Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence in Business, designed to prepare students for AI-driven roles in the evolving business landscape. With artificial intelligence transforming industries worldwide, this cutting-edge program aims to equip graduates with the skills necessary to harness AI for strategic business value.

“AI expertise is critical in today’s competitive environment, where its impact is felt across all business functions—from customer experience to operations,” said Sevin Yeltekin, dean of Simon Business School. “This program provides not only technical skills but also hands-on experience, ensuring students are ready to make an immediate impact after graduating.”

The curriculum will feature courses like Programming for Analytics, Introduction to AI & Business, and AI & Deep Learning. Students will also complete an AI-focused capstone project in collaboration with corporate partners, tackling real-world business challenges.

Citing a Deloitte report indicating that 79% of business leaders expect generative AI to transform their organizations within three years, Mitch Lovett, senior associate dean for education and innovation, emphasized the program’s relevance: “Graduates of this program will be at the forefront of AI transformation, ready to meet the growing demand for AI expertise in business.”

The 14-month program includes personalized career coaching through Simon’s Jay S. and Jeanne Benet Career Management Center. As a STEM-designated program, international students will also have the option to work in the U.S. for up to 36 months if hired in a STEM-eligible role.

The new MS in AI in Business adds to Simon’s portfolio of STEM-designated master’s programs, including a top-ranked MBA, Online MS in Business Analytics & Applied AI, and full-time MS programs in Accountancy, Finance, Business Analytics, and Marketing.
