Andy TempestMBA Career Director Andy joined the Benet Center in July 2017 with over 15 years of strategy and marketing experience with large firms such as AT&T, Skillsoft and Gannett as well as smaller companies – including starting his own company which focused on the intersection of technology and wine. Andy joined the Benet Center in July 2017 with over 15 years of strategy and marketing experience with large firms such as AT&T, Skillsoft and Gannett as well as smaller companies – including starting his own company which focused on the intersection of technology and wine. Andy’s roles at these firms have focused on defining and executing growth strategies both domestically and internationally. This work entailed working closely with senior team members, managing and overseeing cross-functional organizations, and interfacing with external consulting firms. He holds an MBA in Marketing from Vanderbilt University. His undergraduate degree is from Columbia University. Andy enjoys coaching and mentoring students as they seek careers in the consulting and technology fields. Andy also serves as a coach and general manager for Pittsford Little League, enjoys running, attending his kids’ activities, and working within his community to support those in need. Andy is on the University campus in Rochester.

Steve SimpsonMBA Career Director Steve joined the CMC in August 2016, and has more than 15 years executive-level experience in marketing. Before joining Simon, Steve served as Group VP/Marketing and Strategy for Gannett, an international media and marketing solutions company. Steve joined the CMC in August 2016, and has more than 15 years executive-level experience in marketing. Before joining Simon, Steve served as Group VP/Marketing and Strategy for Gannett, an international media and marketing solutions company. Steve received his MBA and MS Media Management from Syracuse University. His undergraduate degree is from St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Steve has a passion for coaching and mentoring, having hired, trained and developed hundreds of professionals in disciplines across the marketing spectrum, and served as a mentor for professionals from diverse backgrounds in corporate talent development and leadership programs. Steve enjoys advising Simon students about careers in brand management, market research, marketing analytics, pricing, product management, and client strategy. Steve especially enjoys working with students who seek to better understand the differences between these various marketing functions. Steve serves as a volunteer youth mentor and on the Board of Directors for Compeer Rochester, a non-profit agency which provides healing friendship to community members living with mental illness. Steve enjoys hiking, podcasts on an array of topics, playing guitar, golfing, and attending his kids' activities. Steve is on campus in Rochester.

Mark SullivanMBA Career Management and Corporate Engagement Mark has been at Simon for over four years. He has over 25 years experience in commercial banking, public accounting and litigation consulting. In banking he was a VP relationship manager to both Fortune 500 and middle market companies. Mark has been at Simon for over four years. He has more than 25 years experience in commercial banking, public accounting and litigation consulting. In banking he was a VP relationship manager to both Fortune 500 and middle market companies. In public accounting he was a Director of Business Development in the Los Angeles office of a Big 4 firm. Mark has a degree in Finance from San Diego State University and completed a certification program at UCLA's Anderson School of Business to be an outside Director. For six years Mark was chairman of the audit and compensation committees for a technology company in the Silicon Valley. Mark enjoys advising students about careers in technology, media/entertainment, biotech, commercial banking, asset management, and not-for-profits. Mark especially enjoys working with students to understand and develop their personal value proposition, how to network effectively with alums, how to expand one's network, how to craft a resume for specific jobs, and how to develop the right mindset prior to their first round interview. Mark co-leads our annual TechTrek and also fosters relationships for the school with companies in Asia. Mark has served on a number of boards of not-for-profits, including hospital foundations, shelters for abused mothers with children, organizations that provide meals to the homeless, and others. He enjoys traveling, wine tasting, eating food from around the world, and watching sports.

Peter HandleyDirector Peter joined Simon in 2011, and has over 15 years of experience in the recruiting/staffing industry. He has worked for a large publicly traded staffing firm, as well as his own boutique firm in placing professionals on both a permanent and project basis in the New York City market. Peter joined Simon in 2011, and has over 15 years of experience in the recruiting/staffing industry. He has worked for a large publicly traded staffing firm, as well as his own boutique firm, placing professionals on both a permanent and project basis in the New York City market. He was responsible for the recruitment of finance professionals up to the CFO level on behalf of blue-chip companies, and was consistently a top performer in the areas of new business development and account management. In addition to selling/recruiting, he was responsible for the hiring and training of new employees in the area of sales. His degree is from The City University of New York with a concentration in Communication and Media. At Simon, Pete works with companies that recruit Simon students and alumni and develops relationships with new companies that are interested in hiring or engaging with Simon/the University. Pete co-manages our NYC career programs and leads the corporate tours for student organizations. Outside of work Peter enjoys running and has completed four marathons and two triathlons to date. He is an avid fisherman, and enjoys spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Ron CarlsonMBA Career Director Ron Carlson joined Simon in January 2011 as Director of Corporate Relations in the Benet Center, having spent the previous 10 years in executive recruiting and sales roles developing a passion for helping talented people find their careers. Ron Carlson joined Simon in January 2011 as Director of Corporate Relations in the Benet Center, having spent the previous 10 years in executive recruiting and sales roles developing a passion for helping talented people find their careers. He served as the Director of Simon’s Center for Pricing beginning in 2016 before returning to the Benet Center as MBA Director of Finance in March of 2019. He has guided students of finance, marketing, consulting, and pricing in their career searches, and enjoys watching students and employers realize a match. Ron received his MBA in Finance and Operations from Simon Business School in 2001. His undergraduate degree is from SUNY Geneseo. He enjoys woodworking, hiking with his dog Max, trail running, and following the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres hockey teams. Ron works on campus in Rochester.
