Why they chose Simon.

While we review your information, you can hear directly from our Full-Time MS students on why they chose Simon—and how it prepared them for their career.

Jiawei (Christina) Song ’18 (MS)

Before she began Simon's MS in Accountancy program, Jiawei (Christina) Song ’18, was planning to join one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. She soon realized that the overall business acumen accountancy that students gain from Simon creates opportunities beyond typical roles such as audit, tax, and financial accounting. She is now putting the deep understanding of accountancy—and of business problems in general—she developed at Simon to work at Mars as a Leadership Experience Program trainee.

Billy Dickinson ’18 (MS)

A desire to expand his technical skills led Billy Dickinson, a 2018 graduate, to the MS in Business Analytics program at Simon. A deep dive into applying analytics concepts to explanatory, predictive, and causal problems helped Billy realize he preferred predictive analytics, so he's perfectly suited for his full-time strategic modeling and statistical analyst role at GEICO.

Paul Wehner ’18 (MS)

Even though he has an undergraduate major in accounting, Paul Wehner ’18 found Simon’s MS in Accountancy helped him understand why the accounting procedures he was already familiar with are so important to managers and to a company’s bottom line. That understanding helped him secure a full-time role with PwC as a risk assurance associate.

Zhaoning (Elizabeth) Ren ’18 (MS)

Simon’s reputation in finance and its global alumni network attracted Zhaoning (Elizabeth) Ren, Class of 2018, to the MS in Finance program. Before coming to Simon, Elizabeth understood financial terms but didn't have a grasp on the big picture. Now, she has a systematic understanding of how finance works, including discounted cash flow (DCF) and residual income modeling, and how to analyze a company’s strategy, profitability, and efficiency.
