Simon professors have deep knowledge and practical experience with a range of areas, including operations, human resources, pricing, analytics, business modeling, and process improvement.
Simon offers four MBA consulting concentrations: strategy, pricing, technology, and operations. Each specialization has an option to graduate with STEM designation. When deciding which areas you’d like to focus on during your consulting career, consider the following specializations and their respective study plans.

Organizations frequently face unstructured, ambiguous business challenges. In our strategy consulting specialization, you’ll learn how to bring clarity to these situations by identifying the root causes of business problems and sources of new opportunities. Courses will prepare you with the tool kit to respond to these problems and opportunities with innovative solutions and strategies, through the lens of Simon’s economics-based approach to management.

Simon was the first business school to offer a specialized pricing track within the MBA program, and is one of just two US business schools that currently have a pricing program. In 2007, Simon founded its Center for Pricing to promote excellence in pricing education and research, and to provide a platform for meaningful interaction between business executives, educators and researchers.
With the Center for Pricing came Simon’s groundbreaking MBA pricing track. Graduates earn comprehensive, state-of-the-art training in pricing theory and techniques and are well-equipped to make an immediate impact on their company’s bottom line. Simon also enjoys an exclusive relationship with the Professional Pricing Society (PPS), which serves thousands of members, representing all leading industries and over 50 countries. As a result of this relationship, Simon students have exclusive invitations to the PPS annual conference, which provides exposure to industry executives.

Our technology consulting specialization focuses on the leading approaches used in the design and development of effective business processes that leverage information technology. It also emphasizes the business issues that arise in choosing information technologies, designing information processes for improving the effectiveness of specific applications, and using enterprise information technology for gaining competitive benefits. You’ll learn how to analyze the fundamental subjects of business information and decision processes in organizations, and the resulting economic and technological trade-offs.
A technical background prior to entering the MBA program is not a prerequisite to success in Simon’s technology consulting specialization.
